The Thermo Scientific Dharmacon® SMARTvector™ shRNA lentiviral platform merges innovations that greatly improve the functionality and specificity of DNA-mediated RNAi and reduce the toxicity associated with low-titer Lentiviral preparations. Dharmacon SMARTvector shRNA products are ready-to-use packaged lentiviral particles that deliver functional and specific shRNA constructs into difficult-to-transfect cells. This includes cells that are resistant to standard transfection such as stem cells, primary cells and neuronal cells

SMARTvector shRNA Lentiviral Control Particles

Positive Controls

  • SMARTvector positive control provided as packaged lentiviral particles
  • Consistent, potent silencing of non-essential, abundantly expressed housekeeping genes in human, mouse and rat cells
  • Targets Firefly Luciferase expressed from pGL2 and pGL3 (Promega Corp., Madison, WI)

Negative Controls

  • SMARTvector negative control provided as packaged lentiviral particles
  • Validated to have minimal targeting of any known genes in human, mouse and rat genomes
  • Empty vector expressing turboGFP (Evrogen, Moscow, Russia) and puromycin resistance to be used as transduction control
