Thermo Fisher Scientific Adds Chondrogenic Differentiation Medium to Stem Cell Research Platform
LOGAN, Utah (May 23, 2008) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has introduced Thermo Scientific HyClone AdvanceSTEM Chondrogenic Differentiation Medium, a new cell culture product to support differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells for research applications.
Using the AdvanceSTEM Chondrogenic Differentiation Medium, scientists can differentiate mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes more easily than with other methods. Chondrocytes are cells that play an important role in the research of deterioration or aging of cartilage, as well as arthritis and in hip replacement.
The medium has been tested and validated for chondrogenic differentiation, which will save researchers valuable time and money. The medium contains specific growth factors to direct the stem cell differentiation without the requirement for serum.
The AdvanceSTEM Chondrogenic Differentiation Medium is part of the Thermo Scientific Stem Cell Excellence portfolio, an end-to-end workflow that incorporates essential instruments, equipment, consumables, reagents and media, services and software tailored to the needs of stem-cell laboratories.
